In the 1930s, a group of pioneering nudist enthusiasts purchased a property in the remote Watchung Mountains of central New Jersey. More than 75 years later, they’re still there, tucked away in what is now the affluent suburban enclave of Bernards Township. Billed as the oldest nudist camp in the country, Sky Farm boasts a diverse membership of all ages. Word of mouth, newspaper and magazine ads and the club’s website keep the club’s membership hovering between 250 and 300, but in recent years the once-reclusive club has begun opening its doors for an open house for prospective members, as it did in June with a fundraiser to support breast cancer research.
